Getting Past the Gatekeeper

What is the best way to get to the decision maker? We discuss this topic with our sales team on a daily basis. The gatekeeper is generally in their position for a reason. They are the key person to keep calls from going to the boss. The best way we have found to get past the gatekeeper is to befriend them.

If you call into a company and you let them know who you are looking for but not really sure of the contact name, nine times out of ten-if you are sincere-they will help.

If you contact a company and try to push your way past the gatekeeper-they will usually put up a wall that keeps everyone out.

Remember when making calls, the gatekeeper is doing their job just as we are.
