Telemarketing and cold calling requires concise scripting

If you are planning to implement a telemarketing or lead generation campaign, cold calling scripts should be developed in writing so that your calls will result in qualified sales leads and qualified sales appointments.    Scripting should be short, concise, and direct.

Remember that you only have 15-20 seconds to make a strong first impression.   Your mission for a cold call is to provide enough information information to peak their interests, but not the intricate details of your offering.
